Why Spiderman is like two of my favorite artists collaborating

Spiders can’t do a lot of things that humans can. They can’t build cars, toast bread, or write blogs. However, humans can’t do many things that spiders – and many other insects – can. Things like crawling upside down, or this:

This video – aided by a nice soundtrack - reaffirms the wonder of nature in our world. Humans are amazing, but so is every other species out there. It’s important for me to appreciate the things around us because it keeps me grounded and humble in the grander scheme of things. Even if I don’t experience humbling awe, I appreciate nature as I would a great artist dedicated to her craft.

We have tendency to classify and rank – and sometimes that blinds us to marvelous subtleties. Are humans the dominant species? Probably, but the question – and especially the answer – leads us to overlook the greatness found in “simpler” things – whether it be ideas, other people, or other species.

Give ideas, people, and even species the opportunity to flourish.

Please enjoy the video!

I especially like that last image there — very inspirational in a very objective way, which is a hard mix to find done right :) If I was a wee bit smarter, I wouldn’t be doing what I’m doing with so much of my time, but I have hope for myself, yet!

Thank you so much Casey! Just figured images are a great medium. Yeah, it’s definitely important to find our own path to genius. I think you’ll enjoy my next post. It’s about the difficulty to balance my want to do many things at once and my want to focus on a few key things.

Yeah man, liked the picture so much that I posted your blog to Pinterest :)

Look forward to something good :) Let’s collabo sometime in 2013 once you find your groove :) I probably have a post or two on the topic you’re talking about right there, but my blog is a hot mess right now as I try to import 2500 old posts from 2002 ’til now. (Including approximately 8000 comments.)

        I’m a madman bro.

          Haha appreciate it man.
And definitely, I’m getting better at this “groove” stuff but hopefully I’ll be right on track soon. Would love to collab more and tell you more about other projects I’m involved in.
